Fun Times At The Witherspoon Distillery in Lewisville
By far one of my favorite things to do in Lewisville is to go to the Witherspoon Distillery. I ended up going on the Wingding Event on July 15th and it was a blast. Being the whiskey buff that I am, I was able to taste so many different whiskey products all distilled in good old Lewisville, Texas. When at the distillery I was proud of the high quality aged whiskey they produced locally. With each sip I took the whiskey would taste smoother and smoother and was nothing I had ever tasted before.
Responsible Drinking in Lewisville, Texas
I know what you are thinking…”I hope you didn’t drive”. Don’t worry I took an Uber as I am a very responsible person and would never put another person in Lewisville in danger!
The owner was born in Lewisville, Tx…What!?
I met one of the so called owners and he was telling about that they only use the best ingredients and never take any short cuts when it comes to distilling their whiskey products…he was so passionate about the grains they used and every thing that went into making whiskey in each barrel and the main thing it came with was love. The love the drink! He then went on to say that he was born and raised in Lewisville and wanted to make us proud.
The bar was done nice and they had a fireplace making a nice little smell throughout the whole distillery. I drank their craft cocktails on the rocks and they tasted absolutely great. The spirits on the bar menu was top notch and you could tell they put alot of thought into it…from the malt whisky to the old fashioned they all use fresh herbs and spices.
The experience I had was definitely eye opening and I’m making it a point to go back to their next event in Lewisville to try some more. Lol!
I think one of the most impressive things about the night was that not only did the drink taste amazing, the bottle made the alcohol look like it cost a million bucks but was actually very affordable. So of course I picked up a case so I could continue tasting everything at home.
I got home and decided to crack open another bottle and and drank about another quarter of it then went to bed around 3 but I had a great time.
Just so everyone knows the bar is only open on Fridays and Saturdays but the entire place is opens seven days a week to accommodate tours of the distillery and to buy merchandise. But the tours had more of a party atmosphere b/c they play music and force you to try all there hand crafted products. I tried the cucumber mojito and the red lizard mango martini both were excellent craft drinks that I will try when I’m looking to change it up a bit.
Overall it is a great place that opened in Old Town Lewisville and I think it’s a great place to hang out.
